It occurs to me that with no parental supervision in my life, I could have had ice cream for breakfast.
I could have had ice cream for breakfast for the last 6 years.
So many wasted opportunities.
Sigh.

My version (as a dedicated athlete) of the sudden realization occurred thusly:
Wow, my parents were really intelligent in trying to get me to eat healthy. Too bad they were such pushovers and let me eat crap all the time.
at some point, the novelty wears off... i'm 12 years in though, and not yet.

While awesome at first, I definitely paid for it soon after, and I went and got some Huevos Rancheros stat.
